What a powerful poem!

What a powerful poem!   Today’s lesson was on a poem called I Felt a Funeral in My Brain by Emily Dickinson. I really loved the poem because of its complexity and because it is very powerful. The theme of this poem is that silence can be very powerful. With that being said this poem taught me life lessons as well. I tried my best to analyze the poem on my own and I got very far but with the help of my teacher and classmates I understood it even more. I’m glad that my teacher introduced this author and this specific poem to me because I really enjoyed reading and analyzing it.

Understanding Themes and writing concepts

Today we were placed in groups so that we could do an activity on the novel “The Color Purple”. The activity was to write down themes, evidence, and claims portraying to the topic. This activity was actually helpful because it breaks down the themes and topics of the novel. It also helped because each one of us had to view others opinions and think outside of the box. It made me think deeper into the novel to find out more themes and evidences. This activity was fun. I enjoyed doing it. Tomorrow we take our EQT hopefully I pass it.

First Day Back

Today in class we focused on acknowledging the people around us. We also talked about finishing high school the right way. Consisting of  making it the best times of our lives. I learned that working is important but breaks are also important We answered questions pertaining to this year and past years og our high school year.
