Reading TheColor Purple

Today we had a class discussion on the letters we read yesterday of “The Color Purple”. We analyzed and answered critical questions on the last letters that we have read. After we were done answering questions we continued to read the novel. The novel is becoming interesting and open. I am learning more about the characters and what they symbolize in the novel. “The Color Purple” is a great novel. It is not very complex, it is also very opened and straight forward. I can’t wait to finish it and see the outcomes of everyone’s life in the novel.

What a powerful poem!   Today’s lesson was on a poem called I Felt a Funeral in My Brain by Emily Dickinson. I really loved the poem because of its complexity and because it is very powerful. Reflection A Lesson Before Dying: Ch.1-3

Chapter 1 left me yearning to see what was going to happen next because I thought Jefferson’s attomey story was convincing, but the court still found Jefferson guilty for the murder of Alcee Grope. Chapter 2 introduced Grant, the narrator, who is also Tante Lou’s nephew. I didn’t like that Tante Lou made Grant go and talk to Henri pichot against his will not knowing Louis Rougon would accuse him of making Miss Emma and Tante Lou come and talk to Henri about Jefferson. From reading chapter 3 I implied that the lesson of the book would be being acknowledge for what you truly are. In Jefferson’s case a man.
