Reading The Color Purple and analyzing prompts

Today we spent our class time rereading the letters from the day before so that we could analyze some questions that may be on the AP exam. For the most part the questions that we encountered were not that difficult. The only difficult part is providing a theme that would work for the prompt and novel. Also answering the prompt can be hard. I say this because when writing one may beat around the bush instead of answering the prompt that is stated. We didn’t get to continue reading the novel so we were assigned to read it for homework.

What a powerful poem!   Today’s lesson was on a poem called I Felt a Funeral in My Brain by Emily Dickinson. I really loved the poem because of its complexity and because it is very powerful. The theme of this poem is that silence can be very powerful. With that being said this poem taught me life lessons as well. Reflection A Lesson Before Dying: Ch.1-3

Chapter 1 left me yearning to see what was going to happen next because I thought Jefferson’s attomey story was convincing, but the court still found Jefferson guilty for the murder of Alcee Grope. Chapter 2 introduced Grant, the narrator, who is also Tante Lou’s nephew. I didn’t like that Tante Lou made Grant go and talk to Henri pichot against his will not knowing Louis Rougon would accuse him of making Miss Emma and Tante Lou come and talk to Henri about Jefferson. From reading chapter 3 I implied that the lesson of the book would be being acknowledge for what you truly are. In Jefferson’s case a man.
