Reading Sylvia Plath

Today we read and analyzed “You’re” by Sylvia Plath. The poem was difficult to understand when I read it without my teacher helping me out. The first thing that we did with the poem was underline and circle all of the similes and metaphors so that we could explain the function of each one. Explaining the function of figurative Language is not the challenge. The challenge is understanding what the poem is talking about. Overall it was a great day in AP Lit.
